SSSTS Course

The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is a two-day course designed for those working as a site supervisor. It is recognised as one of the key qualifications under the Site Safety Plus Scheme making it one of the most popular CITB courses and awards.

Those undertaking a SSSTS course will learn how the supervisory role can support the site manager in upholding safety on site, further information regarding risk assessments and a deeper understanding of health and safety law relating specifically to supervisors on site.

Our CITB SSSTS course is delivered as a two-day block and is available in our training venues nationwide.

This SSSTS course is delivered in a physical classroom with a CITB trainer and up to 20 delegates, workbooks will be hard copies to take home with you. SSSTS is a popular CITB course and we have various dates available to suit your needs.

Remote Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme courses are delivered online through video conferencing software zoom. Delegates access the course by logging into the virtual classroom with the link provided.

Remote learning eliminates the cost and time constraints that come with attending a classroom course. The delegates can access the course through a laptop or computer with a microphone, a webcam, a screen and a connection to the internet. Please note, mobile phones cannot be used for this.

All the course materials are provided in digital format, and the exam is completed online.

At the end of the course you will have an understanding of:

  • health and safety law and how it applies to supervisors
  • your supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safely
  • risk assessments and the need for method statements
  • effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
  • monitoring site activities effectively
  • timely intervention when bad practice is identified

Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take a refresher course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.
